Sri Shankaracharya Ashtottara Shatanaama Paarayana Yajna 2017 in Tamilnadu


With the blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam, and Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam, Sri Adi Shankaracharya Ashtottara Shatanama Parayana Yajnam commenced throughout Tamil Nadu on January 11, 2017.

Thanks to the effort of all the coordinators, hundreds of centres with groups of devotees across Tamil Nadu have sprung up. As part of the Yajna, tens of thousands of devotees are to chant the Ashtottara Shatanama of Sri Adi Shankaracharya in groups spread across hundreds of centres in the various districts of Tamil Nadu. As part of the Parayana session, devotees chant the Ekashloki Prakaranam of Sri Adi Shankaracharya, Sringeri Guru Vandanam, Sri Sharada Bhujanga Stotram of Sri Adi Shankaracharya and the Ashtottara Shatanamavali of Sri Adi Shankaracharya and a Mangalam song.

Accordingly, devotees deem it a great opportunity to pay their gratitude by reciting the  Ashtottara namas. A modest target of 20 lakh recitations has been set.
