Vidyashankara Aradhana and Rathotsava November 10, 2013

The Aradhana of the 10th Acharya of the Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Vidyatirtha was observed reverentially on 9th November. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji performed the Aradhana Pooja at noon in the sanctum sanctorum of the magnificent Lord Sri Vidyashankara temple built over the Samadhi location of the Jagadguru.

The Mahaswamiji had ascended the Vyakhyana Simhasana on Aashwayuja Krishna Panchami of the Shukla Samvatsara – 19th October 1989.

The Sharada Sharan Navaratri Celebrations at Sringeri commenced on the Mahalaya Amavasya day falling the 4th of October 2013. Mahabhisheka was performed to Goddess Sharada amidst chants of Saraswati Sukta, Devi Sukta, and Ratri Sukta from the Rig Veda and Saraswati Sukta, Medha Sukta, Sri Sukta and Durga Sukta from the Yajur Veda. After the Mahabhisheka, Goddess Sharadamba gave Darshan as Jagat Prasutika signifying her role as the Divine Mother of the Universe.
