The 64th Vardhanti Mahotsava of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji will be celebrated on Chaitra Shukla Shashthi, falling on 5th April this year. Maharudra and Shatachandi yaga will be performed on the occasion.

On the evening of 30th March 2014, the Jagadguru Mahaswamiji inaugurated a yearly programme for the remembrance of Music composers from Mysore named “Mysore Vaggeya kaararige Namana” organized by Mysore Sangeeta Vidyalaya that is based at Mumbai and Bangalore.

The Jagadguru Mahaswamiji arrived at Shikaripura in the evening of 27th March 2014. The Jagadguru was received by the devotees of Shikaripura and was taken in a procession to Kevalashrama. Sri Shivananda Tirtha Swamiji of Kevalashrama performed Dhuli Padapuja and offered the Swagata Patrika.

The Jagadguru reached Harapanahalli of Davangere District in the evening of 26th Mar 2014 to a grand welcome arranged by the disciples of Harapanahalli. Some children were dressed up as Gods and Goddesses, while others sang and danced to a number of Bhajans as part of the Jagadguru’s welcome procession.

The Jagadguru arrived at Hospet of Bellary District in the evening of 25th March 2014 and was given a reverential welcome by the devotees of Hospet. Then there was a Shobha Yatra. In the Swagata sabha, the Jagadguru in His Anugraha Bhashanam, elaborated on the qualities of an Astika and the root cause for suffering in the world.

The Jagadguru Mahaswamiji reached Koppal in the evening of 24th Mar 2014 and was given a traditional reception by the devotees. After a grand procession the devotees offered Swagata Patrika to the Jagadguru. The Jagadguru gave a detailed Anugraha Bhashanam on the need to follow Dharma.
