Bengaluru Sringeri Shankara Math at Shankarapuram, Chamrajpet was established in the year 1907 by the 33rd Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sri Sharada Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Nrusimha Bharati Mahaswamiji. The Mahaswamiji consecrated the Murti of Jagadguru Sri Shankara Bhagavatpadacharya and started a Shastra Pathashala for advanced studiers in Shastras namely Sri Bharatiya Girvana Praudha Vidyabhivardhini Samskrita Mahapathashala. 

In the year 1939 the 34th Jagadguru Shankaracharya of the Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji consecrated the Murti Goddess Sharadamba in this Math.

The 35th Jagadguru Shankaracharya of the Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji built Gopuram over the temples and consecrated the same in the year 1968.

In 2007, on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of establishment of the Math at Bengaluru, the present and the 36th Jagadguru Shankaracharya of the Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji performed Maha-Kumbhabhisheka and also celebrated the Shankara Jayanti Mahotsava at the venue.

On May 20, 2022 the successor designate Jagadguru Shankaracharya of the Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji performed Kumbhabhisheka of Goddess Sri Sharadamba and Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya at the respective temples in this Math and blessed all the assembled devotees.
