Teppotsava of Sri Balasubrahmanya Swami

As a part of the nearly two week long celebration of Tungabhadra Pushkara, Teppotsava (Float festival) of Sri Balasubrahmanya Swami was celebrated in the evening.

As a part of the festivities, three Murtis of Lord Sri Varaha Swami, Sri Sharadamba and Sri Tungabhadra Devi respective had been erected on the southern bank of the Tungabhadra river adjoining Narasimhavanam.

The Ubhaya Jagadgurus arrived at the Southern bank late in the evening and prior to the Teppotsava, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam performed Pushpanjali and Deeparadhana seva to the Murtis.

Thence, a grand Teppotsava of Sri Balasubrahmanya Swami was carried out on the Tungabhadra River. The Murti of Lord Sri Balasubrahmanya Swami was ceremoniously carried on a boat and ferried across the river and back.

The Ubhaya Jagadgurus graced this event and had Darshan of the Utsava murti of Sri Balasubrahmanya Swami on the Teppam (float).

Earlier, an Aratrika (ritual waving of lights) was performed on the northern bank of the Tungabhadra river.
