Launched with the blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, the Shaankara Tattva Prasaara Abhiyaanam continued in Bangalore and Swarnavalli (Shirsi) in July and August 2011. The Abhiyaanam focuses on developing Pravachanakaras (Upanyasakas) to spread the tenets of Sanatana Dharma and Advaita Vedanta with emphasis on the life and works of Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada. As part of the Abhiyaanam, a first level training programme for budding Upanyasakas was conducted at Bangalore on 23rd and 24th July at the Sringeri Shankara Math, Chamarajpet, Bangalore and in the premises of the Swarnavalli Math near Shirsi on 31st and 1st August 2011.

In both the programmes,  scholars from all around Karnataka addressed the participants and explained various aspects related to Sanatana Dharma and Advaita Vedanta.

Industralist and social worker Sri B N V Subrahmanya was the chief guest the Valedictory function. Speaking on the valedictory function at Bangalore, the Peetham’s CEO and Administrator, Sri V R Gowrishankar in his valedictory address conveyed the blessings of the Jagadguru to the participants. At the programme in Swarnavalli, the Mathadhipati of the Swarnavalli Math, Sri Gangadharendra Saraswati Swamiji graced the programme on both days and delivered a Bhashanam on Advaita. A total of about 120 participants attended the programmes in Bangalore and Swarnavalli.

  • It is pitiful that when many of us are asked, “who are you?”, The first thought that arises is “I am a Keralite”, or “I am a Punjabi”, etc. The thought that should immediately stem is “I am an Indian”. If people first feel that they are Indians and only then think of divisions, the nation will have great prosperity and the divisive forces will not be operative as they are today.
