Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri

75th Vardhanti of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji

Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peethadheeshwara Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam is none other than Sri Sharadamba walking in human form on this earth and blessing us all. We have not only heard this statement being made many times in the Anugraha Sandesha of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam but have also experienced it personally.

Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam has compassionately directed and guided the conduct of the Suvarna Bharati Mahotsava commemorating 50 years of Sannyasa Sweekara of Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam. We have all been fortunate to participate in this historic Mahotsava and be recipients of His benign blessings showered upon us during various events conducted as part of the Mahotsava over the past 16 months.

The followers of Sanatana dharma have been blessed with Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam’s period of reign – a golden era in the history of Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham. The reign is golden not merely because of the various golden dedications in kind at the temples in Sringeri, but more so due to the extraordinary dharma-prachara that we are witnessing. Sri Mahasannidhanam has inspired innumerable devotees to adhere to the dharmic path through His Upadesha and led us in this path by Himself being the supreme example.

The Jagadgurus have now compassionately directed that we must continue the dharmic and social initiatives commenced during the Suvarna Bharati Mahotsava with renewed vigour from the most sacred occasion of Vajrotsava Bharati – the 75th Vardhanti of Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam.

Accordingly, dharmic activities conducted across our country and abroad such as Shrauta Maha Sammelan, special Veda and Shastra Sabhas, Purana & Itihasa Parayana, Vedanta camps, Annadana in various Tirtha Kshetras, Baala Bharati program for children, as well as social activities such as free medical camps, health drives and special educational scholarships will become a permanent fixture.

All these will take place under the flagship of Vajrotsava Bharati, a new movement that will feature additional dharmic ventures undertaken as an ongoing mission in line with the principal objective of the Peetham – the sustenance and propagation of Sanatana dharma. On the sacred occasion of the 75th Vardhanti of Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam, let us all pledge to contribute our might to this movement called Vajrotsava Bharati in every possible manner and make our lives purposeful.

  • Just as in this body, the embodied one passes through boyhood, youth, and old age, so does one pass into another body. With reference to this (birth, aging and death), the wise man is not disturbed. Bhagavan Sri Krishna on Significance of God
  • An object continues to be dear as long as one derives pleasure from it and it is detested for the duration that it causes pain. The same object cannot be always liked or disliked. Sometimes, that which is not dear may become dear. Moreover, that which was loveable can turn unpleasant. The Atma, towards which affection never wanes, is always the most beloved. Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada on Shatashloki
  • Blessings are the monopoly of God and we must all pray for his gracious blessings. Jagadguru Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamigal on Significance of God
  • It is pitiful that when many of us are asked, “who are you?”, The first thought that arises is “I am a Keralite”, or “I am a Punjabi”, etc. The thought that should immediately stem is “I am an Indian”. If people first feel that they are Indians and only then think of divisions, the nation will have great prosperity and the divisive forces will not be operative as they are today. Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamigal on Significance of God
  • Instead of using the tongue for speaking futile issues, use it to chant the names of God. God shall then guide you along the right and beneficial path. Jagadguru Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamigal on Significance of God's Names
