Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri

Thanks Extraordinary !!

April 27, 2021

Devotee Friends,

Words can’t convey my feelings towards all of you for the total cooperation extended during the last fortnight.

With the blessings of Goddess Sharada and Jagadgurus, all the planned dharmic activities were completed this afternoon.

Keeping in line with the policy of total and strict following of Government norms, we had to cancel many of the cultural events and also deny you the liberty  of watching the proceedings sitting at your place. This was beyond my control. Seek your pardon!

It is to the credit of the great name of our institution that even in such a difficult situation we could stand up and fulfill the directions of Their Holinesses. Thank you all for understanding and cooperating.

Arrangements are being made to send prasadams to all Seva kartas through courier.

This may get delayed due to the present “close down”. Please bear with us.

Once again my heartfelt thanks to you all.

I must also add that at this time our nation is going through a great crisis.  The Sankalpa for the recently completed dharmic activities included the well-being of all. Last year, when the lockdown was imposed, the Sringeri Math with the blessings of Their Holinesses took a number of measures to contribute to society. These include Annadana at various branches across the country, supporting Vaidikas as well as the needy from different strata of society, supporting students from economically weaker backgrounds, providing health service to those affected by covid as well as cooperating with & assisting the Government driven efforts in offering critical care through our affiliated hospitals and health care centres.

I also have to acknowledge and thank many amongst you who took part in chanting the Durga Parameshwari Stotram as directed by Their Holinesses at the beginning of the pandemic. Those who chanted included tens of thousands in India and abroad across all age groups. Remarkably, even non-Indian followers of Sanatana Dharma from nations such as Brazil, Netherlands and South Africa chanted the Stotram solely for the welfare of mankind. The Stotram was also translated by the devoted into languages such as Portuguese.

Though many of us cannot play a frontline role in helping those directly or indirectly affected by the raging pandemic, we can renew our chanting of the Stotram earnestly wishing for the welfare of all.

The clarion call of the Jagadgurus has always been for adherence to Dharma and engaging in Paropakara.

I once again request every single devotee to contribute his or her mite in taking personal care and in the process of supporting and helping society in every possible Dharmic way.

May the Blessings of Goddess Sharadamba and Their Holinesses be ever with all of us,

V R GOWRISHANKAR

  • Just as in this body, the embodied one passes through boyhood, youth, and old age, so does one pass into another body. With reference to this (birth, aging and death), the wise man is not disturbed. Bhagavan Sri Krishna on Significance of God
  • An object continues to be dear as long as one derives pleasure from it and it is detested for the duration that it causes pain. The same object cannot be always liked or disliked. Sometimes, that which is not dear may become dear. Moreover, that which was loveable can turn unpleasant. The Atma, towards which affection never wanes, is always the most beloved. • It is pitiful that when many of us are asked, “who are you?”, The first thought that arises is “I am a Keralite”, or “I am a Punjabi”, etc. The thought that should immediately stem is “I am an Indian”. If people first feel that they are Indians and only then think of divisions, the nation will have great prosperity and the divisive forces will not be operative as they are today.
