The news of the passing of Pandit Vasant Anant Gadgil has left the world of Samskrita lovers in grief. He strove his entire life for the propagation of Samskrita and acquired immense fame. He had extraordinary reverence for the Sringeri Sharada Peetham and rendered great service as the representative of the Peetham in Maharashtra. He authored many texts in Sanskrit and published a Samskrita monthly named “Sharada” for more than 60 years. He fulfilled to his final breath the vow he had taken in his childhood that the sole purpose of his life would be the propagation of Samskrita.

Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sri Sharada Peethadheeshwara Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam has offered prayers that Bhagavati Sharada bless the departed scholar with Parama Shanti.
