Sringeri Town Panchayat Karyalaya inauguration

On March 3, 2019, Jagadguru Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam inaugurated “Sri Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Sabha Bhavana”, the renovated building of the Sringeri Town Panchayat located in Harihara Street near the Sharabamba temple, Sringeri. The Jagadguru then graced the Poornahuti of Vastu Homa inside the building. Later, the Jagadguru performed Puja to the marble Vigraha of the Jagadguru Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji consecrated inside the building.

Sri T.D. Raje Gowda, MLA of the Sringeri Assembly Constituency, Sri D.N. Jeevaraj, former MLA, Sri Jayashila Chandrashekhar, President of the Taluk Panchayat, and other dignitaries offered their Pranams to Sri Sannidhanam.

Sringeri Math CEO & Administrator Sri V.R. Gowri Shankar in his address stated that the Sringeri Math has always extended its cooperation for the well being of the society, while the political leadership has always remained devoted and respectful to the Math and the Sringeri Jagadgurus.

Sringeri MLA Sri T.D. Raje Gowda speaking on the occasion sought the blessings of the Jagadguru for the developmental efforts in the Taluk.

Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam in His Anugraha Bhashanam said that Sri Adi Shankaracharya chose this place, Sringeri, a Punyakshetra, to establish a Guru Parampara. In this Kshetra, Shankaracharya spent a significant number of years in His lifetime. Sringeri is also a place where Maharshi Vibhandaka performed intense Tapas. Virtuous deeds and bad deeds performed in such Kshetras result in excess Punya and Paapa respectively compared to ordinary places.

Sri Sannidhanam explained that nearly a century ago, His Parameshti Guru, Jagadguru Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji, on behalf of the Sringeri Math, had donated the site for the construction of the Panchayat Karyalaya and had also inaugurated the building that was constructed on it.

Sri Sannidhanam expressed his joy over the fact that the new building is an aesthetically renovated structure of that same old building and aptly named after the Jagadguru. The Jagadguru was known to be the personification of Goddess Sri Sharadamba which refelected in His Holiness’s Manas (heart), Vaak (speech) and Naama (Name).

Sri Sannidhanam also pointed out that it is important to be mindful that in the process of its social development, care must be taken to ensure that nature is not harmed and ecology is preserved.

Sri Sannidhanam further stated that the office bearers and service personnel of the Panchayat make it a practice to pay obeisance to the Moorti of the Jagadguru installed in the Bhavana for securing success in their endeavours and obtaining the desired welfare.

The Jagadguru had words of appreciation for the sincerity and devotion of the members and blessed all in the assembly.

  • Just as in this body, the embodied one passes through boyhood, youth, and old age, so does one pass into another body. With reference to this (birth, aging and death), the wise man is not disturbed. Bhagavan Sri Krishna on Significance of God
  • An object continues to be dear as long as one derives pleasure from it and it is detested for the duration that it causes pain. The same object cannot be always liked or disliked. Sometimes, that which is not dear may become dear. Moreover, that which was loveable can turn unpleasant. The Atma, towards which affection never wanes, is always the most beloved. Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada on Shatashloki
  • Blessings are the monopoly of God and we must all pray for his gracious blessings. Jagadguru Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamigal on Significance of God
  • It is pitiful that when many of us are asked, “who are you?”, The first thought that arises is “I am a Keralite”, or “I am a Punjabi”, etc. The thought that should immediately stem is “I am an Indian”. If people first feel that they are Indians and only then think of divisions, the nation will have great prosperity and the divisive forces will not be operative as they are today.
