Krishna Yajur Veda Jata Parayanam took place from February 15 to February 28 2017 at Sri Sacchidananda Vilas. Organised as part of the Shashtyabdapoorti of Vedabrahmasri Meenakshi Sundara Ghanapaathi, the Yajur Veda Adhyapaka of the Sadvidya Sanjeevini Samskrita Mahapathashala, the Parayanam began in the divine presence of Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam on February 15 with 10 Vedic scholars, led by Vedabrahmasri Gurunatha Ghanapaathi. The scholars after completing the Jata Parayanam also chanted the Taittireeya Brahmana and Aranyaka on the final two days. All of them received the blessings of the Ubhaya Jagadgurus on February 28.

Vedabrahmasri Meenakshi Sundara Ghanapaathi also conducted a Maharudra Yaga in the precincts of the Kalabhairava temple in Narasimha Vanam. The Poornahuti was held on his Shashtyabdapoorti day – March 5, 2017 in the divine presence of the Ubhaya Jagadgurus.

In His Anugraha Bhashanam, Sri Mahasannidhanam said that there had once been a large number of Satpurushas in our society who studied the Vedas and spent their lives in serving the Veda Purusha. These noble people lead a Vedic life and passed on their knowledge to deserving students. Such people are still amidst us even though their number has shrunk.

Sri Mahasannidhanam stated that Meenakshi Sundara Ghanapaathi was one such person. Having been the recipient of the Grace of Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji (Sri Mahasannidhanam’s Guru) and serving in the Pathashala over the last 38 years, the Ghanapaathi has taught hundreds of students, and some of his students too have gone on to teach hundreds.

Sri Mahasannidhanam added that it was most appropriate that students whom the Ghanapaathi has taught over the years have come together to organise, conduct and celebrate his Shashtyabdapoorti. Sri Mahasannidhanam also said that it was a great fortune for the Ghanapaathi that the Ghanapaathi’s own Vidya-Guru had also come to give his blessings on the Shashtyabdapoorti of his student.

Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam then showered Their copious blessings on the Ghanapaathi.

  • Weapons do not cut This (Atma); nor does fire does burn It. Water does not wet (nor drown) nor does wind dry It. This (Atma) cannot be slain, nor burnt, nor wetted, nor dried up. It is changeless, all-pervading, stable, immovable and eternal. Bhagavan Sri Krishna on Significance of God
  • Do not be proud of wealth, people (relations and friends), and youth. All these are snatched by Time in the blink of an eye. Giving up this illusory world, know and attain the Supreme. Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada on Mohamudgara

  • By God’s grace, we have obtained a human birth, the power of discrimination and someone to teach us about the ultimate, truth. If we still remain lazy, we will be wasting a marvelous opportunity. Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamigal on Significance of God
  • No man is omniscient. Hence man should not have the ego that he knows all. It is ego that leads man astray and drives him to commit sins. Jagadguru Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamigal on Significance of God's Names
