At around 4 pm, the Ubhaya Jagadgurus started from Narasimha Vanam to the northern banks of the Tunga crossing the river via the Sri Vidyatirtha Sethu. The Jagadgurus then had Darshan at all temples on the northern bank including the Goddess Sharadamba temple. Thereafter, the Jagadgurus walked in an Utsava to the temple of Lord Malahanikareshwara, situated on the hillock near the main entrance of the Math. The Jagadgurus had Darshan in the temple. The Jagadgurus had Darshan of Goddess Bhavani, remained in the Sannidhi until the Ashtaavadhaana Seva was performed and returned to Narasimha Vanam.

During the last fortnight of the Chaturmasya, a number of events had taken place. Vinayaka Chaturthi was observed with great festivity at Sringeri on September 5, 2016. In the afternoon, at 4:00 PM, the annual Mahaganapati Vakyartha Vidwat Sabha for the ensuing Durmukha Samvatsara commenced in the divine presence of the Jagadgurus and under the august presidentship of Sri Mahasannidhanam.

Sri Mahasannidhanam performed a special Puja as part of the Kedareshwara Vrata (September 10) with Sri Sannidhanam present during the Mahamangalarati. Sri Vamana Jayanti was observed with great fervour on September 12. After the Chandramoulishwara Puja was performed for that night by Sri Sannidhanam, Sri Mahasannidhanam performed the first Puja as part of the Chaturyama Puja done during Vamana Jayanti and also did Parayanam of the Puranic verses related to Vamana Avatar. Sri Sannidhanam then performed the remaining three Pujas. The following morning, Sri Mahasannidhanam performed the Uttara Puja with Sri Sannidhanam present during the Mahamangalarati. Ananta Padmanabha Vrata was performed by Sri Mahasannidhanam at noon on September 15. Sri Mahasannidhanam performed the Uma Maheshwara Vrata at 12 noon on September 16, with Sri Sannidhanam witnessing the Mahamangalarati.

During the Chaturmasya period, hundreds of thousands of devotees had Darshan of the Ubhaya Jagadgurus. Many communities and Bhakta Samajas from various parts of the country also arrived with their members, numbering in thousands, during the weekends, had Darshan, performed Bhiksha Vandanam and sought the Jagadgurus’ blessings. All devotees who came to Sringeri during the Chaturmasya deemed themselves most fortunate to have Darshan of the Ubhaya Jagadgurus.

  • Just as in this body, the embodied one passes through boyhood, youth, and old age, so does one pass into another body. With reference to this (birth, aging and death), the wise man is not disturbed. Bhagavan Sri Krishna on Significance of God
  • An object continues to be dear as long as one derives pleasure from it and it is detested for the duration that it causes pain. The same object cannot be always liked or disliked. Sometimes, that which is not dear may become dear. Moreover, that which was loveable can turn unpleasant. The Atma, towards which affection never wanes, is always the most beloved. Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada on Shatashloki
  • Blessings are the monopoly of God and we must all pray for his gracious blessings. Jagadguru Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamigal on Significance of God
  • It is pitiful that when many of us are asked, “who are you?”, The first thought that arises is “I am a Keralite”, or “I am a Punjabi”, etc. The thought that should immediately stem is “I am an Indian”. If people first feel that they are Indians and only then think of divisions, the nation will have great prosperity and the divisive forces will not be operative as they are today. Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamigal on Significance of God
  • Instead of using the tongue for speaking futile issues, use it to chant the names of God. God shall then guide you along the right and beneficial path. Jagadguru Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamigal on Significance of God's Names
