Ashtottara Parayana Yajna in Karnataka

Sri Adi Shankara Ashtottara Shatanama Parayana Yajna, began in December 2015 under the direction of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam and Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam, is being observed with great enthusiasm in different parts of Karnataka. The Yajna, overseen by the Shaankara Tattva Prasaara Abhiyaanam of the Peetham, is being conducted at 1500 centres distributed across 160 Taluks and 28 districts of Karnataka. People of all ages including school children are involved in this Yajna, wherein the Ashtottara of Sri Adi Shankaracharya is chanted as a group in every centre every week. The Yajna will continue till the first week of May and will culminate with the Shankara Jayanti Celebrations.
