Day 11 of Rajagopuram Kumbhabhisheka


 

With the grand Kumbhabhisheka celebrations of the Rajagopuram reaching its final phase, the seasonal rains are in their starting phase. Tomorrow is the completion of Kotikumkumarchana. The Koti namas chanted for 10 days will definitely be reverbrating in the atmosphere even after the completion.

Kotikumkumarchana

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji graced the Math precincts in the Northern bank of the Tunga river at around 9:15 am. At Sharadamba temple, after having the Darshan of Goddess Sharadamba, the Jagadguru remained in the temple for one full session of Lalita Sahasranama Parayana being conducted as part of the Koti Kumkumarchana. Again in the evening the Jagadguru came to the temple by 5:50PM and remained for one full session of Lalita Sahasranama. As part of the Kotikumkumarchana everyday morning after the Archana, 9 Suvasinis and 2 Kanyakas were offered worship and everyday night after the arati, dindi utsavam was arranged. The Utsava Murthi and Bali Murthi of Sri Sharadamba were taken in the Golden Ratha. The Rathotsava was completed by circumambulating the Garbha Griha of Goddess Sharadadamba temple three times.

Today morning, the Kotikumkumarchana concludes with a Lalita Homa.

Atirudra Mahayaga

As a part of the ongoing Atirudra-Mahayaga, the chanting of Sri Rudra Prashna by the 121 Ritwiks created an ethereal ambience. The Parayanam started at 7 am in the morning and went on till noon. The Rudra Kramarchana started by 4:30 pm and ended with Ashtavadhana Seva & Mahamangalarati by 6:30 pm.

Cultural Programme

As part of the 11th day Celebrations of the Rajagopuram Kumbhabhisheka, the cultural programme featured a vocal concert by a young and highly talented musician, Vidwan Sri Ramakrishnan Murthy and group. Eminent Vidwan Sri Umayalpuram K Shivaraman accompanied in Mridangam. Sri Ramakrishnan Murthy started his concert in the divine presence of Jagadguru Mahaswamiji in a brisk Kamboji raga, with a shloka starting with “सद्गुरुगजास्यवाणी” and  and a song “विधिमुखाम्भोज हंसि शारदे रक्ष्याः कृपया” both composed by the Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji, the 34th Jagadguru of Dakshinamnya Sri Sharada Peetham. The Jagadguru came from the temple of Sri Sharadamba blessed all the musicians and delighted at the young musician singing the composition of His Paramaguru with perfect bhava and pronunciation.
