Jagadguru graces sankalpa ceremony of Vardhanti Havanas


 

In conjunction with the 61st Vardhanti celebrations, Ugra-ratha shanti, Ayushya, Mrityunjaya and Navagraha havanas are being conducted by the Sri Math. The Jagadguru graced the Sankalpa ceremony of these havanas, today the 8th of April 2011 at around 9:30 A.M. after darshan of Goddess Sharadamba.

Eighteen officiating priests headed by Sri Sitarama Anjaneyulu Sharma will perform the ceremonies at the Jagadguru Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Nrisimha Bharati Yagashala in the Math complex on the northern bank of the Tunga River.

130 Kalashas filled will sanctified water and invoked with various deities have been installed at the Yagashala and will be propitiated with the various mantras chanted during the event. The 130 Kalashas are comprised of the following invoked deities 60 Kalashas with the Adhi-Devatas of the 60 Samvatsaras, 27 Kalashas with the Adhi-devatas of the 27 Nakshatras, 9 Kalashas with the Navagraha Devatas, 7 Kalashas with the Deities governing the seven days, 13 Kalashas with the deities of the 13 Yogas, 14 Kalashas with the deities of the 14 Karanas.

Pancha Kathaka Parayana, Shanti Sukta Parayana, Vishnu Sahasranama Parayana, Shiva Sahasranama Parayana, Shiva Kavacha Parayana, Ayushya Sukta Parayana, Navagraha Japa, and Suryanamaskara are also being performed as a part of the ceremony.
