Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji inaugurating the new Guest house

To commemorate the Shashtyabdapurti or completion of sixty years of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, a new guest house near the Sri Math complex was inaugurated by the Jagadguru on Thursday the 24th of March 2011.

Rakshoghna and Vastu havana were performed by the Math purohitas earlier on the day and purnahuti was performed in the august prescence of the Jagadguru. After inaugration, the Jagadguru performed Chandramouleeshwara Puja in the newly inaugurated building.

Aptly christened “Sri Bharati Tirtha Krupa”, the new guest house, whose construction began in February 2008, is comprised of four storeys, each having 45 individual rooms with modern amenities, and one common dormitory hall. The new stay facility will have a centralised reception centre, cloak room,  and lifts for the convenience of  pilgrims. The new building also houses a huge basement with ample parking space for 75 cars.

Below are some photographs taken during the event.
