The magnificent 14th century temple dedicated to Lord Vidyashankara temple is built over the Samadhi location of the 10th Acharya of the Peetham, Jagadguru Sri Vidyatirtha. Sri Vidyashankara Rathotsava was celebrated on a grand scale during Kartika Shukla paksha. The Aradhana and Rathotsava festival spanned seven days from Karthika Shukla Tritiya to Navami.

The Aradhana Pujas began on 11th November. On 13th November (Karthika Shukla Saptami), Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji performed the Aradhana Pooja at noon in the sanctum sanctorum of the magnificent Lord Sri Vidyashankara temple.

On the following days, Sri Vidyashankara Rathotsava and Teppotsava carrying the Utsava Moorti of the deity were celebrated.
