There is a close relationship between the Sringeri Math and Rameshwaram since time immemorial. The Sringeri Jagadgurus have been honoured as kulagurus. All the priests of the ancient temple of Sri Ramanathaswamy receive Diksha from the Sringeri Jagadguru. With the Blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, the kumbhabhishekam of Rameshwaram Sri Ramanathaswami temple was performed on 1st July 2009. As per the directions of the Jagadguru, Gurusevadhurina Padmasri V.R.Gowrishankar (CEO and Administrator of the Sringeri Math) participated in the grand Kumbhabhishekam celebrations.

  • The Self (Atma) is never born nor does It ever die; neither does It cease to exist after having once existed nor does the Self come into existence, like the body, having not existed before. Unborn, eternal, It undergoes no change whatsoever and is primeval; It is not destroyed when the body is destroyed. Bhagavan Sri Krishna on Significance of God
