The Jagadguru first worshipped Stambha Ganapati and then offered an elaborate Puja at the shrine of Lord Malahanikareshwara. The Jagadguru also offered worship at the shrine of Goddess Bhavani. The Mahashivaratri Puja took place at Guru Nivas in Narasimha Vanam with the Jagadguru performing the night-long Pujas of the 4 Yamas from 7:30 pm to 7 AM the following day. At 10 AM on 24th February, the Rathotsava of Lord Malahanikareshwara took place along the streets of Sringeri in the Jagadguru’s holy presence. Maharudra Yaga was performed as part of the festival. The Jagadguru oversaw the Poornahuti of the Yaga in Jagadguru Narasimha Bharati Yagashala on 25th February.
