Narasimha Jayanti and Release of Book on Mahanyasa

Jagadguru worships Lord Lakshmi Narasimha

On 30th April 2007, Sri Narasimha Jayanti was observed. The Jagadguru worshipped Lord Lakshmi Narasimha that afternoon. Vedic Chants comprising the Pursha Sukta and Mahanarayana Upanishad filled the air as the Jagadguru performed Abhisheka to Lord Narasimha, the Avatara signifying the omnipresence of the Lord.

In the evening, the Jagadguru released the book “Saswara Mahanyasaadi Mantrah” published by Sri Sharada Vidya Prathisthana, Adhyatma Vichara Samiti. This book contains Mahanyasa along with Kannada translation. Elderly scholars, Vidwan Sri N. Ranganatha Sharma and Vidwan Sri Seshachala Sharma were honoured on the occasion. The Jagadguru extolled the greatness of Sri Rudram in His Anugraha Bhashana.

An object continues to be dear as long as one derives pleasure from it and it is detested for the duration that it causes pain. The same object cannot be always liked or disliked. It is pitiful that when many of us are asked, “who are you?”, The first thought that arises is “I am a Keralite”, or “I am a Punjabi”, etc. The thought that should immediately stem is “I am an Indian”. If people first feel that they are Indians and only then think of divisions, the nation will have great prosperity and the divisive forces will not be operative as they are today.
