Shaankara Tattva Prasaara Abhiyaanam at Bangalore


 

With the blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, Shaankara Tattva Prasaara Abhiyaanam had been launched in November 2009 on Gita Jayanti with the objective of training Upanyasakas to spread the life and message of Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya.

The 3-day first stage training programme has already been held in Sringeri and Kollur. The Peetham organized the Bangalore edition of this first stage of the Abhiyaanam from 19th to 21st February 2010 at Sri Sringeri Shankara Math, Bangalore. About 50 people attended the event. The Peetham’s CEO and Administrator, Sri V R Gowrishankar in his address conveyed the Blessings of the Jagadguru to the participants and stressed the need for understanding the works of Sri Shankaracharya and living one’s daily life in accordance to the scriptures in today’s fast-paced world. He also mentioned the importance of the role of mothers in a family to carry forward the tradition of Sanatana Dharma. Scholars from all around Karnataka addressed the participants and explained various aspects related to Sanatana Dharma and Advaita Vedanta. Sri.H.Subramanya Jois presided over the Valedictory function and spoke of the relevance of Sri Adi Shankaracharya’s teachings in the present-day. Program co-ordinator, Prof. Shikarupura Krishnamurti and Program organizer Sri B N Murti also spoke on the occasion.
